Today Nikon released new software updates for several products: Wireless Transmitter Utility, Message Center, Picture Control Utility, ViewNX-i, NX-D and Camera Control Pro ($149.95). Here are the details:
- Added support for the Z 50.
- The Z 7 and Z 6 can now be paired with the computer even if the Wireless Transmitter Utility is launched before a Wi-Fi connection has been established. The same is true of the Z 50.
- On completing pairing, users can now choose a destination folder and the application used to display transferred images.
- Added support for online help.
- Added support for the dark mode feature introduced with macOS Mojave version 10.14.

- Pictures can now be protected.
- Text can now be entered in text boxes even when multiple color control points are selected.
- The mouse wheel can now be used to position control point sliders in the preview display, allowing fine adjustments to be made a click at a time.
- Users can now prioritize speed or quality via Preferences > View > View Images.
- The drop in thumbnail display speed for cropped images can now be addressed by selecting speed priority.
- Fixed an issue that resulted in changes in hue when NEF images edited using Capture NX2 were saved in other formats.
- Fixed an issue that caused the focus point to move if images were cropped or straightened with the focus point hidden.
- Added support for the Z 50.
- Added keyword-entry assist for XMP/IPTC Information > Tags > Keywords.
- Folder and file names can now be up to 110 characters long.
- Larger font sizes are now available via Preferences > View > Size of Text and Icon.

Enabling password protection for wireless or Ethernet network profiles using the Network > Network settings > Password protection option on a D5 or D500 camera will cause issues if you attempt to use the Wireless Transmitter Utility to edit or add network profiles when the camera is connected via USB to a computer running OS X. Disable password protection using the Password protection option in the camera menus before using the utility under OS X. Enabling password protection does not affect operation under Windows.
Movie transfer is supported in the following modes:
• D3S and D300S: Transfer mode
• D4S, D4, D800, D800E, and D7000: Transfer mode and PC mode
but note that the Auto send and Send folder options are not supported in Transfer mode.

Follow the steps below to transfer movies in Transfer mode.

- Connect in Transfer mode.
- Select a movie in full-frame or thumbnail playback.
- Select the movie for transfer as described below. Upload will begin immediately.
• D4S and D4: Keeping the OK button pressed, press the center of the multi selector.
• D3S: Keeping the thumbnail/playback zoom button pressed, press the center of the multi selector.
• D800, D800E, and D300S: Press the OK button on the camera.
• D7000: Keeping the BKT button pressed, press the OK button.

- Create a folder on the hard disk and name it as desired.
- Download the software to the folder created in Step 1.
- Run the software to launch the installer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
